F. Miles Adler is a graduate of the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina School of Law. Admitted to practice 2002, South Carolina; United States District Court, South Carolina; United States Bankruptcy Court, District of South Carolina. Miles served in the United States Navy prior to law school.
Miles advises clients with respect to their domestic and multi-jurisdictional business, estate, asset protection, and international finance matters. He is adept in the design and implementation of business and asset protection structures for U.S. and non-U.S. citizen clients and is regularly called upon to provide counsel on insolvency and workout issues in cases when investments in these structures underperform or fail. Miles also represents clients in various areas of commercial law, private financial relationships, and estates with a particular focus on transactions and litigation involving probate and trust matters; private equity; mortgage lending; commercial real estate; commodities; and non-traditional investments. In addition, Miles has experience working with federal and state regulatory agencies on compliance and enforcement issues to include the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, and various states’ Office of Attorney General.
